Attend a 2-day advanced workshop focusing on Decision-Making in the Current Market. The class will be conducted in front of a live screen. This workshop will have a small class-size to ensure optimal interaction with Dr Alexander Elder.
Day One (Tuesday 16 March 2010): Preparation
1. Brief introduction into the key methods of analysis and decision-making
2. A review of current markets
3. Identifying promising stocks for the days ahead
4. Creation of a trading plan for selected stocks
Day Two (Wednesday 17 March 2010): Trading, Analysis, Review
The class begins half an hour before the market opens
1. Review of previous evening’s plan, overnight news and developments
2. Placing, monitoring and adjusting orders
3. Managing trades, entry rules and placing stops
4. Documenting trades in a diary
As time permits during the day, the following topics will be addressed:
• Psychology & Discipline
• Building a system that fits your personality
• Q&A (with prizes for the best questions)
This presentation is suitable for the professional and intermediate traders.
Speaker Biodata
Alexander Elder, M.D., is a professional trader, based in New York City. He is the author of Trading for a Living and the Study Guide for Trading for a Living, considered modern classics among traders. First published in 1993, these international best-sellers have been translated into Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, and Spanish. His Come into My Trading Room was named a 2002 Barron’s Book of the Year. He also wrote Rubles to Dollars: Making Money on Russia’s Exploding Financial Frontier, Straying from the Flock: Travels in New Zealand, Entries & Exits: Visits to 16 Trading Rooms and Sell and Sell Short.
Dr. Elder was born in Leningrad and grew up in Estonia, where he entered medical school at the age of 16. At 23, while working as a ship’s doctor, he jumped a Soviet ship in Africa and received political asylum in the United States. He worked as a psychiatrist in New York City and taught at Columbia University. His experience as a psychiatrist provided him with unique insight into the psychology of trading.

Changes:
